Scientific proof for energy healing

The Million-Dollar Seminar

In early March 2021, a seminar on the scope and perspectives of energy medicine was held. It was organized by the Center for International Research in Energy Medicine “Dr. Ljubiša Stojanović.” Thirteen doctors and two university professors presented their observations on the effects of energy medicine on 17 groups of chronic physical and mental illnesses to an audience comprising doctors and pharmacists.

This was the first seminar of its kind in Yugoslavia, and possibly in the world, where qualified medical professionals presented their research on the application of alternative medicine.

Energy medicine, established by Ljubiša Stojanović, is based on the influence of spiritual energies in the form of healing sessions and energy-programmed products.

Without further ado, here is an overview of one of the most comprehensive studies conducted during this seminar. Its goal was to examine the effects of healing sessions and the “healing talisman.” A five-year research project (1994–1998) was conducted in two parts:

  1. Evaluation of the combined effects of energy healing sessions and the “healing talisman.”
  2. Evaluation of the standalone effects of the talisman, without healing sessions.

The research was carried out by a group of professors and doctors from the Medical Faculty in Novi Sad. The study on physical illnesses was led by Prof. Dr. Nikola Šljapić, while the research on mental illnesses was overseen by Prof. Dr. Borislav Kapamadžija.

A total of 2,713 patients participated in the study. Of these, 602 patients with various chronic illnesses received therapy through energy healing sessions while wearing the talisman, while 2,111 patients were treated exclusively with the talisman.

About 75% of respondents reported feeling calmer, stronger, and better overall after using the talisman. Most patients experienced enhanced immunity and increased resistance to colds and infections.

Survey on the Healing Effects of the Talisman
Conducted by: Prof. Dr. Nikola Šljapić

The study used a survey method, distributed to individuals who had ordered the talisman between 1990 and 1994. The primary question asked participants to list three main health conditions for which the talisman was ordered and the achieved health effects. Respondents could choose from the following outcomes: fully healed, mostly healed, partially healed, or no improvement.

TABLE: Healing Results for Physical Illnesses

ConditionFully Healed (%)Mostly Healed (%)Partially Healed (%)No Improvement (%)
Spondylosis12.544.929.013.6
Osteoarthritis9.144.929.216.9
Hypertension13.835.429.121.7
Obstructive Bronchitis32.737.420.69.3
Vein Disorders13.337.327.721.7
Allergies29.338.518.513.8

In total, for 2,111 patients with 151 types of chronic illnesses: 18.3% were fully healed, 42.3% mostly healed, 23.6% partially healed, and 15.8% saw no improvement.

95.9% of respondents were still wearing the talisman at the time of the survey. When asked about its usefulness, 32.8% found it very useful, 53% useful, 5% not useful, and 9.2% undecided.

Dr. Šljapić’s Conclusion:
The talisman is not a substitute for necessary medical treatments. However, it demonstrates a broad spectrum of effects and satisfactory efficacy, particularly in preventing various illnesses.

Research by Prof. Dr. Borislav Kapamadžija on Bioenergy and Psychiatry

Dr. Kapamadžija emphasized observing practical effects without adhering to theoretical mechanisms. Over four years, he collaborated with Stojanović, monitoring patients in a “bioenergy” clinic.

Key Results:

  • Psychoneurotic Symptoms (1995):
85% success rate with significant improvements or symptom withdrawal in most cases.
  • Headaches (1995–1996):
Success rates of 95% (1995) and 92% (1996), with many experiencing substantial relief.
  • Insomnia (1997):
85% of participants reported improvement or recovery.
  • Psychoses:
92% noted at least mild improvement, with symptom alleviation in many cases.

Dr. Kapamadžija’s Conclusion:
Bioenergy therapy significantly improved symptoms in over 85% of cases.

Evidence of the Divine?

Skeptics will always find grounds to claim suggestive or placebo effects or use any other excuse to maintain their worldview. With this in mind, I highlight Prof. Kapamadžija’s quote:

“The suggestive effect of bioenergetic therapy has long been known. However, it is not suggestive when an atonic eight-month-old infant, after just one therapy session, lifts its head and holds it up, or when nocturnal enuresis in children ceases. In standard psychotherapeutic approaches, it is not known that such rapid and effective results can be achieved with such high success rates.”

However, this story raises far greater questions than those purely medical. Although Prof. Kapamadžija refers to these treatments as “bioenergetic”—they are not. Ljubiša Stojanović claims that the sources of these beneficial effects are spiritual energies, and he argues that their potential extends far beyond mere healing. In Dr. Stojanović’s books, the possibility of using these energies is mentioned for resolving almost all human problems, such as free supply of electrical energy, free materialization of resources, improvement of climate conditions, and more. If the theory is true, the possibilities are, in fact, unlimited.
