Palak Mehta (PM): The Festival of Womanhood is Mohanji’s vision to unite women together from all across the world, woman who have the power to bringing forth new empowering generations.
Yelena Fasbender (YF): It was born from a deep-seated desire to celebrate the inherent strength and potential of women worldwide. Mohanji’s vision ignited the flame, urging us to create a platform that not only honors womanhood but also empowers women to realize their fullest potential. The goal is simple yet profound: to support, nurture, and actualize every facet of womanhood.
TAT: Women’s circles are gaining momentum globally. How do you see their importance in the context of FOW?
YF: Women’s circles serve as sanctuaries of support and empowerment, providing a space where women can come together to share experiences, exchange ideas, and uplift each other. At FOW, these circles form the heartbeat of our community, fostering solidarity and understanding among women from diverse backgrounds. They play a pivotal role in our mission to empower women and men alike.
TAT: Reflecting on the success of the inaugural edition, what made it such a remarkable event?
YF: The first edition of FOW exceeded our wildest expectations, uniting women from all walks of life in a celebration of empowerment and sisterhood. Through meaningful discussions and inspiring interactions, attendees left with renewed vigor and a strengthened sense of community. It was a testament to the transformative power of collective action and shared vision.
TAT: Could you elaborate on the theme “Homemakers as Gamechangers” for this year’s festival?
PM: Each year, we have a unique theme, and we aim to create talks, panels, healing sessions, music sessions, each of which is eye-opening in itself. The theme of the first edition was Motherhood.
YF: This year, we shine a spotlight on the often-overlooked contributions of homemakers, recognizing their pivotal role in driving positive change within society. The theme underscores the immense impact homemakers wield beyond the confines of their households, championing their role as catalysts for societal transformation.
PM: Homemakers are often neglected in society, sometimes undervalued, and sometimes people might feel they don’t contribute enough because they are not contributing financially. But the truth is, without homemakers, it is tough to build a powerful society and generation. So, their role—whether you are a working woman or not—is quintessential for the balance of the planet and for bringing forth strong, confident, and compassionate generations.
TAT: Who are some of the key speakers lined up for the 2024 edition, and what can attendees expect from their presentations?
YF: Our line-up boasts a diverse array of speakers, including esteemed homemakers, entrepreneurs, activists, and thought leaders. Each brings a wealth of experience and insight to the table, offering perspectives that inspire and empower. This year, we celebrate five extraordinary women across categories such as Woman Icon of the Year, Social Impact, Diversity Enabler, Gamechanger, and Youth Leadership. TAT: Looking ahead, what are the long-term goals and aspirations for FOW?
YF: Our vision for FOW extends far beyond the confines of a single event.
