Blessed BEGINNINGS

MCB USA

2023 marked a pivotal year for the Mohanji Centre of Benevolence (MCB) in Dugspur, Virginia, nestled within the Appalachian Mountain Range. This serene 20-acre space became a sanctuary for self-reflection and stability, as envisioned by Mohanji. Operating year-round, the centre has quickly become a beacon for spiritual seekers across the US. Key Milestones in 2023
The MCB officially came to life on March 26, 2023, after a dedicated search led to the discovery of a pristine property meeting all Mohanji Space requirements. With blessings from Mohanji, the acquisition was finalized on April 6 (Hanuman Jayanti). Renovations and construction quickly followed, transforming the barn into a Satsang Hall and establishing a space for gatherings.
Mohanji’s inaugural visit in September 2023, themed Enhance the Silence Within, brought immense joy and tranquility. The retreat offered Maha Homas, Satsangs, and Kriya initiations, leaving lasting impressions on attendees. Events like Guru Purnima and Diwali further fostered local and spiritual community engagement.

2024: A Year of Consecration and Growth

Early 2024 saw preparations for the Prana Pratishtha of Shirdi Sai Baba, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Dattatreya. Despite logistical challenges, the Murtis arrived safely, symbolizing divine synchronicity. With tireless efforts, the temple was completed just in time for the grand consecration ceremonies in April, graced by Mohanji and Devi Mohan. The Prana Pratishtha included powerful Homas, retreats, and seva activities like a fruit tree plantation and a sneaker drive for underprivileged children. These events reinforced the centre’s mission of fostering unity, transformation, and stability.

A Growing Legacy
In its first full year, the MCB has become a vibrant hub for spiritual growth, with ongoing weekly meditations and retreats. It stands as a testament to collective effort, divine grace, and the vision of Mohanji to create spaces of peace and transformation.

Cows at MCB (April 2024) During a quiet moment at MCB, Mohanji noticed cows on the neighboring land crying due to lack of water. Acting promptly, an automated water trough was installed, allowing the cows access to water from the MCB grounds. One morning, Mohanji played Krishna’s flute music for them, and they gathered around him, a magical moment of connection. Two cows, later named Kali and Devi, and a calf, Dia, became beloved members of MCB, officially adopted by the Mohanji Foundation USA in December during Datta Jayanti. Visitors and residents continued caring for all the cows, offering water, fruits, and love.

Fruit Trees & Garden
MCB partnered with ACT Foundation and FTPD to plant 45 fruit-bearing trees, including apple, peach, pear, and banana varieties. Fencing was installed to protect the trees from deer, ensuring their growth. A small kitchen garden also produced tomatoes and beans, enriching the land’s offerings. Summer 2024
By May, the property blossomed, becoming a haven for nature, devotees, and divine energy. The temple held daily Aarti, attracting visitors connected to the Tradition. The CEO of Mohanji Foundation Global visited, solidifying MCB’s place in the global family of Mohanji Spaces. Plans for parallel programs, including Empowered 5, were laid out.

Mohanji’s Return (July 2024) Mohanji returned for the Prana Pratishtha of the Shiva Lingam and Hanumanji Murtis. The ceremonies, conducted with profound focus and devotion, uplifted the energy of the center. Volunteers organized parallel programs seamlessly, fostering unity and transformation. The ashram, temple, and community hall came alive, aligned with Mohanji’s teachings.

Community Engagement
Throughout the year, MCB became a spiritual hub, offering one-day programs coinciding with major festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Maha Samadhi Day. A November gathering honored pioneering women from neighboring communities, showcasing selfless service. Each event brought new faces, culminating in a December potluck program that celebrated unity and depth.

In Memory of Bai: An Extraordinary Soul On October 24, 2023, Bai, a small cat, appeared at the Mohanji Center of Peace. She cautiously explored the backyard, eating food left for birds. Gently called, she came closer and accepted the offerings of food and almond milk. Her independence was evident, but she soon made her home in a warm shelter, where she was cared for through the winter. Despite her solitary nature, Bai formed a unique bond with every resident and guest.

After falling ill in early 2024, Bai was diagnosed with feline leukemia and was pregnant. She lost her babies but fought her way back to health with love and care. By spring, she regained her independence, continuing to visit the porch for breakfast and even sitting through daily readings of the Sai Satcharitra. Her name, “Kitty Bai,” came from Shirdi Sai Baba’s term for women, reflecting her divine essence. Bai’s connection with Mohanji was special. During his visits, she walked alongside him and Sulakhe Maharaj, receiving blessings and leading the way like a small lion. She also appeared during the Maha Homa, radiating a rare grace, and was lovingly acknowledged by Mohanji. In her final days, Bai showed tenderness as she allowed others to care for her. Surrounded by love and beautiful music, she peacefully transitioned, her body laid to rest in a spot chosen by Mohanji. Later, Mohanji confirmed that Bai had attained Moksha, a testament to her sacred journey.
