DO YOU WANT SOMETHING FROM GOD OR DO YOU WANT GOD?

Author: Sweety Vyas

There is an interesting story about a king who made a proclamation: the next day, when the main door of his palace opened, anyone who touched an item inside would claim it as their own.

The people in his kingdom began discussing the announcement, each planning what they would touch. Some intended to touch the gold, while others hoped for the valuable jewelry. Those who loved horses aimed for the stables, while others set their sights on the elephants or cows.

Just imagine the chaos that must have unfolded!

The next day, as the palace doors opened, everyone rushed forward, eager to touch their desired possessions. Each person was in a hurry, worried someone else might beat them to their chosen object. Meanwhile, the king sat on his throne, smiling as he watched the frenzy unfold.

Then, amidst the crowd, the king noticed a little girl making her way toward him. The king, intrigued, thought to himself, “This young girl may just want to ask me a question.” But the girl walked slowly and calmly toward him, placing her small hand gently on the king’s hand. The moment she did, the king and all his possessions became hers.

The king had offered the same opportunity to everyone in his kingdom, but they made the mistake of seeking material things. In the same way, God offers us opportunities every day, and yet we often make the same mistake: we chase after the material world and its possessions.

But we must realize that if God becomes ours, then everything else becomes ours as well.

THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN:

  • Wanting God
  • And wanting from God
